Dr. Kinoti is a Kiswahili lecturer in the School of Education and Social Sciences, Department of Humanities. He has a teaching experience of close to three decades where he has served in various capacities. At the University of Embu, Dr. Kinoti has been instrumental in organizing the annual University Cultural Festivals, popularly known as CULFEST, as Chairman of the Organizing Committee. He also chairs the University Policies Editorial Committee, as well as being the Editor, Flashlight Magazine (The official University Magazine), besides being the patron, Chama cha Kiswahili cha Chuo Kikuu cha Embu (CHAKIE). He was also a member of the University Anthem Development Committee, which spearheaded the composition and production of the University Anthem, among other vital University Committees.
In the 2019 Kenya National Drama and Film Festivals, Dr. Kinoti bagged the Best Non-student Actor Award in the Film Category for starring as Professor Mambo in the University of Embu Film titled Scars and Consequences. In 2020 he featured in the award-winning University film, The Verdict, which qualified for the national festivals that failed to take off in Mombasa when schools and other learning institutions were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
His philosophy in life is ‘Hujafa Hujaumbika’, which loosely means, your creation story remains incomplete till the day you die – there is always room for improvement!
